New classes at Cellar Press

NEW ULM — The Grand Center for Arts and Culture invites the public to participate in classes at Cellar Press. The newly released schedule offers creative classes for teen and adults interested in the book arts of printmaking and letterpress.

Josh Winkler, a MNSU Professor of Printmaking, will be teaching a two-session relief print & accordion bookmaking class. Students will learn relief carving & printing, and bind an accordion book. No printmaking or bookbinding experience necessary. Ages 14 & up. Class is Thur. Feb 27, 6-8pm and Sat. Feb 29, 1-4pm. Cost is $35.

Instructors Brad Hall and Andy Kahmann will be teaching a two-day block carving & water color class. On the first day students will design and carve a 5×7 linoleum block and print their design. On the second day, students will hand-watercolor their art work. No printmaking experience necessary. Ages 12 and up. All materials are provided. Class will be March 28, 12-4pm & March 29, 12-3pm. Cost is $75.
