GIBBON — The Gibbon Fairfax Winthrop (GFW) school board will hold a public hearing on Monday, Feb. 3 on the question of the necessity and practicability of the proposed closing of the GFW intermediate school in Fairfax at the end of the 2019-2020 school year.

The public hearing begins at 6:30 p.m. in the GFW Primary School Gym in Gibbon. The Fairfax school is being considered for possible closure for reasons including, but not limited to excess districtwide building capacity and district Statutory Operating Debt.

Expectations at the public hearing, including rules of decorum and submission of speaking requests, will be posted on the school district website at www.gfwschools.org.
