NEW ULM — The New Ulm Police Department has received a report of a scam involving an imposter posing as Monsignor Douglas Grams of the Holy Trinity Cathedral Church in New Ulm.

The imposter is texting parishioners of the church and requesting them to purchase gift cards. The imposter is then asking parishioners to give them the card and pin numbers of the cards.

This is a scam. Police warn people not to respond to any of these requests. The imposter may know your name and use specific information to sound convincing.
