Farm Bill meetings set for Springfield, Arlington

ST. PAUL — University of Minnesota Extension and the Farm Service Agency (FSA) are holding free, educational events to help crop producers understand decisions regarding the 2018 Farm Bil reauthorization of Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) and Price Loss Coverage (PLC) programs.

Under the 2018 Farm Bill, crop producers must make a selection by March 15, 2020, of either ARC-County, PLC or ARC-Individual for all covered commodity base acres on a farm. The election will apply to the farm for 2019 through 2020.

Meetings will be held from 9 to 11 a.m, Tuesday, Dec. 17 in the Springfield Area Community Center and 2 to 4 p.m., Friday, Dec 20 at the Arlington Community Center. No registration is required

Other meetings are set for Farmington, Mayer and Morris, Monday, Dec. 16; 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17 at Hamilton Hall, 219 S. Main, Blue Earth; 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Dec. 18 at the Murray County 4-H building, Slayton; 1 to 3 pm., Thursday, Dec. 19 at the Hutchinson Event Center and 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20 at the Litchfield Eagles Club.
