Artscape returns to Grand

NEW ULM — The 11th Annual New Ulm Artscape show has returned to the Grand Center for Arts and Culture.

The opening reception for the show is 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6, at the Grand Center for Arts. The reception is free to the public. Prizes will be awarded to artists at 6 p.m.

This year’s show received 94 adult submissions and 22 student submissions. The gallery accepted 66 adult submissions and 19 student pieces.

All works submitted must be original works completed within the last five years and must be from a single artist.

The exhibit accepts works from a variety of mediums including paintings, photography, weavings, sculptures and miniatures.

Artscape is a juried show. Prizes will be awarded to the top four works in the adult category and the top two in the student division. This year’s judge is Bill Bukowski, a professor in the Studio Art Department of Bethany Lutheran College.

The Grand posted a complete list of works accepted for the show on their website Wednesday evening.

All accepted works will remain on display through Friday, Jan. 3.
