Park & Rec Report

Teen Day of Play Friday, Nov. 22 at the Rec Center from 9-11 p.m. This event is FREE and open to teens 12-18, thanks to the generous donations of our Days of Play sponsors!!! Enjoy Human Fooseball, Human Billiards and mini golf, pool and gym activities.

Men’s Adult Basketball League for 18 and up will be offered Sunday evenings Dec. 8 through late February/early March. This is a 5 on 5 unofficiated basketball league. Fee is $150 per team. Registration forms are available at the Rec Center.

Thanksgiving break activities: Wednesday, Nov. 27: Open Swim from 1-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Open Skate at the Civic Center from 2-3:45 p.m. and Open Hockey from 2-3:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29: Open Swim from 1-4 p.m.

Winter Day of Play/Skate with Santa and the Steel Sunday, Dec. 8 from 1-4 p.m. Skate to your favorite holiday music with Santa, holiday friends and the New Ulm Steel Hockey Team! You may also decorate your own holiday treats, and crafts. FREE admission with non-perishable item or donation to the local food shelf. You may bring your own skates or use ours!

PreK Open Gym Wednesdays and Fridays from 9-11 a.m. Run, chase and burn off energy! Play with balls, scooters, hula hoops, parachutes and more! Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Open Pickleball at Rec Center Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 1-2:30 p.m., Wednesdays 6-7:30 p.m. and Saturdays 10-11:30 a.m. Memberships, Punch cards, cards or Daily Admission apply.

Open Co-Rec Broomball at the Civic Center begins Nov. 6 and runs each Wednesday from 7-8:30 p.m. There is no broomball Nov. 27. Regular admission, punch card or membership fees apply.

Tot Swim is held the first and third Fridays of the month; Dec. 6 and 20. This is an opportunity to Swim and play with your tot in the shallow part of the pool. Toys are provided and tot slide will be open. Whirlpool is closed during this time. Admission is $2.75/tot.

German Park Amphitheater is in great need of improvement! Fundraising for this project continues. Any size of donation is accepted and greatly appreciated for this community venue. Checks can be made to the City of New Ulm Amphitheater and mailed to the Park and Rec. Dept., 122 S. Garden Street, New Ulm.
