Planning panel OKs permit applications
NEW ULM — The Brown County Planning Commission unanimously approved a pair of conditional use permit applications and a preliminary plat application Tuesday.
Commissioner Dennis Potter made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Anita Mohr, approving an application filed by Kathryn and Stephen Bloom to allow a firearms retail and manufacturing business out of the residence in Section 16, Burnstown Township, all in the A-1 agricultural protection zoning district.
Commissioner Potter’s motion, seconded by Commissioner Mohr, approved an application filed by Keith Olson on property owned by Ladd Demolition & Aggregates, Section 13, Leavenworth Township, to continue to allow gravel mining to include gravel and extraction, crushing, and hot-mix plant, all in the A-1 zone. The operator is responsible for maintaining adequate dust control.
Commissioner Tony Berg’s motion, seconded by Commissioner Mohr, approved an application filed by Judith Isaksen on property owned by Floyd and Judith Isaksen known as Isaksen Subdivision in Section 18, North Star Township. The application is to split a building site from tillable acres, all in the A-1 zone.
