McLeod County man dies in grain bin accident

GLENCOE — A McLeod County man died in a grain bin accident on Friday.

The McLeod County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at 11:22 a.m. from an address on 140th Street in Rich Valley Township reporting an adult male trapped in a corn bin.

Also responding to the scene was the MN State Patrol, Glencoe Fire Department, Plato Fire Department, Allina Ambulance and Life Link Air Care. After approximately 30 minutes, a 64 year old male was located and removed from the bin. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene and is also investigating. The identity of the male will not be released at this time pending family notifications.
