SE City Council to consider reposting city manager job

SLEEPY EYE — The Sleepy Eye City Council will consider reposting the city manager job, a position profile an final interview dates with Dave Drown Associates at its meeting on Tuesday, May 14.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the council chambers.

The action comes after the city council unanimously approved a separation agreement with former city manager Kelli Truver a couple weeks ago. The City of Sleepy Eye and Truver felt it was in the best interests of each party that she amicably separate from employment with the City in accordance with an agreement that came after nearly two and one-half hours of open and closed meetings with attorneys.

Other city council agenda items include consideration of plumbing licenses, liquor license renewals, special event beer license applications, exempt gambling permits for Brown County Pheasants Forever and St. Mary’s Church.

Other considerations include a permit to sell goods on a public street, food shelf relocation to the rear of the Sleepy Eye Community Center, and a funding request for a crosswalk on St. Mary’s Street.

City Attorney Alissa Fischer’s report will include rental inspections, a surveying ordinance, possible food truck ordinance and Larry and Lisa Pelzel’s offer to buy tax-forfeited property.

City Engineer Dave Palm’s report will include 2020 Street & Utility Project, 12th Avenue crossing and 12th Avenue S.E. updates. Airport lighting project bids will be considered.

The city manager’s report includes the sewer reconstruction fund and 2018 budget carryovers.
