MEEKER COUNTY — An 80-year-old Fairfax man died in a two-vehicle crash in Dassel Township, Meeker County Thursday morning.

Lorenz R. Canfield, Fairfax, was driving a 2012 Ford pickup southbound on TH 15 when he crossed into the northbound lane, colliding with a 2015 Freightliner driven by Alfred R. Jutkiewicz, 56, Boston, Ma.

The semi rolled into a ditch and into a pond. Canfield died at the scene. He wore a seat belt and an airbag deployed. Jutkiewicz was not injured. He wore a seat belt. Gold Cross Ambulance, the Dassel Fire Dept. and Meeker County Sheriff’s Office responded.
