MnDOT warns motorists of difficult travel

MANKATO – The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is warning motorists in south west and south central Minnesota that forecasted freezing drizzle Saturday morning, followed by heavy snow and strong winds Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon will significantly reduce visibility and make travel difficult.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Blizzard Warning for all of southcentral Minnesota Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon. Strong winds and whiteout conditions are likely, especially in open areas.

MnDOT advises motorists to check road conditions before traveling. For real-time traffic and travel information in Minnesota, visit www.511mn.org.
