NEW ULM — Halloween 2018 was a scream. Throughout town little devils and angels mingled with the ghosts, goblins and every other manner of creepy crawly.
As is the New Ulm custom, State Street was crowded with trick or treaters and the houses were decorated to look as spooky and inviting as possible.
For the residents on State Street the greatest trick of Halloween is determining how much candy is needed to fill all the trick or treat bags.
In 2017, a few houses went through over a 1,000 pieces of candy, but the weather was windy last year and this Halloween night was as perfect as fall weather can be. It was a balmy 50 degrees without any wind.
The children of New Ulm are expected to have a good harvest of candy this year.
