NEW ULM — The Willkommen Committee of the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed New Ulm Public Utilities Director Rodney “Rod” Marshall, Thursday morning.

Marshall took over the position this month. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Eletrical Engineering and has over 30 years in utilities management. His last position was helping to restore power to the island of Puerto Rico in the aftermath of hurricane Maria.

Marshall said he was excited to live in New Ulm. His short time in the city he has been positive. Marshall said he walks to work every day and sees people waving at him. He has started to wave back.

Marshall wished to thank the community for its kindness.
