HermannFest 2018

The day culminated with the grand Fireworks show, with the fireworks flying over the Hermann Monument.
The Hermann Monument stands behind his smaller counterpart played by Bryce Boelter. Boelter was on hand to take photos with festival goers.
The New Ulm Municipal Band (at left) plays the Battle Hymn of the Republic while the New Ulm Battery units wait for their signal.
The New Ulm Battery was joined by several other regional battery units for the Thunder in the Valley performance. Members of the Minnesota National Guard assisted with firing the cannons. The show produced a noise and smoke in the lead up to the finale for the 1812 Overture.
Drew Aufderheide thanked everyone at the benefit for their continued support. He said he didn’t know what his family would do without their help.
A color station was set up at each kilometer of the 5K, each with a different color. Those crossing the finish line got hit with a blast of orange.

Saturday day was a busy day with several events including Drew’s Crew 5K Colorfest, Thunder in the Valley and HermannFest taking place near Hermann Heights Park and Harman Park.
