ST. PETER — Nine members of the MVL speech team traveled to St. Peter on Friday afternoon to compete in the 2A section tournament. In Extemporaneous Speaking, David Huang placed 5th , and Emma Niebuhr placed 2nd in Extemporaneous Reading. In poetry, Elizabeth Kassuelke placed 2nd, and Rachel Ruschmeyer placed 5th. Because they placed in the top 3 in their categories, Emma Niebuhr and Elizabeth Kassuelke advance to the Minnesota State speech competition on Saturday, April 21.
