Suubmitted photo On Thursday, April 5, 10 members of the MVL speech team traveled to Janesville to compete in their subsection tournament. Stephanie Dose placed 5th in Discussion, and David Huang placed 3rd in the Extemporaneous Speaking category. In Extemporaneous Reading, Emma Niebuhr placed 4th and Lauren Schauer won 2nd place. Ari Selvey placed 5th, Walter Grubbs placed 4th, and Kincaid Diersen won 3rd in Humorous Interpretation. In Poetry, Elizabeth Kassuelke placed 2nd, and Rachel Ruschmeyer won 1st place. Additionally, Michael Bovee was chosen as an alternate for the Informative Speaking category. Overall, the MVL team won 3rd place in the subsection, and the students who placed in the top 6 in the subsection tournament move on to compete the sectional tournament in St. Peter next Friday, April 13.
