NEW ULM – NU-Telecom and Red Rock Central Schools announce that NU-Telecom has purchased RRCNet and will assume operations Feb. 1, 2018.

“NU-Telecom is excited to be part of Lamberton and the surrounding communities, and intends to make investments to upgrade equipment and services to continue meeting customer needs,” said President and CEO Bill Otis. “The company is looking forward to partnering with Red Rock Central Schools in its work-based learning program and developing students’ interest in technology.”

Superintendent Bruce Olson agreed.

“The school district is excited to continue to offer this work experience for our students with this new beginning. Many area computer and network technicians began their careers as Red Rock Central students working with the RRCNet’s work-based learning program.”

NU-Telecom is a communications company with headquarters in New Ulm, that provides voice, Digital TV, Internet, Managed Services, computer sales and computer repair services. NU-Telecom sells and services cellular phones and accessories and customer premise equipment. NU-Telecom has customer solutions centers in the Minnesota communities of New Ulm, Glencoe, Goodhue, Hutchinson, Litchfield, Redwood Falls, Sleepy Eye and Springfield as well as Aurelia, Iowa. NU-Telecom also operates TechTrends, a technology solutions center, located in New Ulm. In addition, NU-Telecom offers television and Internet services in Cologne, Mayer, New Germany and Plato, MN. NU-Telecom also holds partial ownership in FiberComm, LC, based in Sioux City, Iowa.

The Red Rock Central School is a consolidated school district serving the communities of Jeffers, Lamberton, Sanborn, and Storden with a Pre-K through 12th grade campus in Lamberton. The district has hosted a student-run Internet service provider business called RRCNet since October of 1996.
