NEW ULM — Last November Bank Midwest in New Ulm broke ground for a new building on the corner of Broadway and Center Streets.
At that time Bank Midwest President Shannon Hillesheim estimated the building should be open by Oktoberfest 2017. As construction enters its final phase, it looks like the building will be completed by this deadline.
Thursday morning Hillesheim gave an early tour of the building for members of the Public Utilities Commission and Chamber of Commerce. Construction crews are still working on the interior of the building. Hillesheim said employees will move in on Sept. 25. The new building will house 11 full-time and two part-time employees.
A public open house will be held for the building during the second week of October. The plan is to incorporate the open house with the Oktoberfest celebration that occurs on Center Street.
