Man dies in accident

Another injured

SLEEPY EYE — An unidentified 60-year-old man died in an accident reported at 2:16 p.m. Monday at Milepost 70 on Highway 4, Home Township, Brown County, said the State Patrol.

Two vehicles were involved: a 1997 Chevy pickup driven by Philip Patrick Sellner, 61, of Sleepy Eye, and a 2016 Hino straight truck driven by Mark Steven Solheim, 56, of Clear Lake.

The straight truck was traveling north on Highway 4, according to the State Patrol. The Chevy pickup was traveling south on Highway 4. The straight truck crossed onto the shoulder, overcorrected, slid into the southbound lane and struck the pickup.

Sellner was taken to the Sleepy Eye Hospital with a life-threatening injury, according to the report. He was not wearing a seat belt, said the report. Information about his passenger, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pending.

Solheim sustained a non-life threatening injury. He was wearing a seatbelt.

The accident occurred on a wet road, according to the report. No alcohol was involved, said the State Patrol.

The Brown County Sheriff, Sleepy Eye Ambulance and Sleepy Eye Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene.
