Highway 14 construction meeting in Sleepy Eye June 26
SLEEPY EYE — Businesses and residents along Highway 14 from Sleepy Eye to Springfield are encouraged to attend a construction meeting held by the contractor in the Sleepy Eye Community Center at 2:30 p.m. June 26.
Access management and construction staging will be discussed for Highway 14 concrete resurfacing project that could begin as early as July 5. A detour is expected to remain in place until completion in mid-September.
Traffic will be detoured from Sleepy Eye to Springfield on State Highways 4, 68, Redwood County Road 16 and 13 and Brown County Road 4. However, there will be 24/7 access to all residences and businesses during the project.
All traffic over 13 feet, six inches and over 80,000 pounds must contact the MnDOT permitting office for an alternate detour due to the low bridge on Highway 4 in Sleepy Eye.
PCi Roads LLC of St. Michael was awarded the project contract with a $6,641,276 bid. The project includes concrete overlay and shoulder work.
