Lamberton City Council looks at street, utility upgrades
LAMBERTON – The Lamberton City Council met with Bollig, Inc., an engineering firm to hear a utility and street upgrade presentation Nov. 14.
The firm proposed a comprehensive plan that would cost about $30,000 to use as a basis for major projects. Some councilors were interested in doing smaller projects. January meetings will be set up with Bollig, Inc. and Bolton & Menk, Inc.
Fire Chief Tom Neperman said extraction equipment is here and the department is training to use it. Turn-out gear should be in this month. Most equipment funding comes from an Assistance to Firefighters grant.
The fire department will take part in the Taste of the Seasons program Friday, Nov. 25. Fire truck rides will be part of an open house.
Wade Wellner said the ambulance service will get a LUCAS device that performs chest compressions similar to CPR.
The city council decided not to contribute to the Redwood County Historical Society. It learned that the library director resigned and that the library board is accepting applications for the job. The city council agreed to let the library board offer the position to the candidate they chose without waiting for city council approval.
