After the public hearing the City Council may adopt the proposed special assessment roll. You will have 30 days from the adoption date to pay the entire final special assessment amount without interest to the Brown County Auditor-Treasurer’s Office. After such time, you may pay to the County Auditor the entire amount of the assessment remaining unpaid, plus the interest accrued to December 31st of the year in which such payment is made. Such payment to the County must be made before November 15th or interest will be charged through December 31st of the succeeding year.
