NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

on

CALA CONTEMPORARY WOODWORK, LLC

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the City Council of the City of New Ulm, Brown County, Minnesota, will conduct a Public Hearing on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at 4:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers located in the New Ulm City Hall, 100 North Broadway, New Ulm, Minnesota, for the purpose of securing citizen input regarding the proposed sale of City owned property at 1200 Water Street to Cala Contemporary Woodwork, LLC (CCW), 718 North Broadway, New Ulm, Minnesota.

CCW is proposing to purchase this property for $1 and would use the building on the property for the manufacture of furniture and woodwork products. The firm would also operate a portable outdoor sawmill. According to the Brown County Assessor’s Office, the current value for the property is $174,400. This project will also facilitate the addition of new jobs. Information concerning the sale is available at the City Manager’s Office in City Hall.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we encourage the submittal of written comments instead of attendance at the meeting. All written comments will be read into the record. Written testimony must be received by noon, Tuesday, August 4, 2020, and shall be submitted to:

All interested persons in attendance will be given an opportunity to speak on this matter. Those attending the meeting must adhere to social distancing guidelines.

A person with residence in, or the owner of taxable property in the City of New Ulm, may file a written complaint with the City, if the City fails to comply with Sections 116J.993 to 116J.995 of Minnesota Statutes, and no action may be filed against the City for the failure to comply unless a written complaint is filed.

The City of New Ulm makes reasonable accommodations for any known disability and to meet the needs of non-English speaking residents that may interfere with a person’s ability to participate in this public hearing. Persons needing an accommodation must notify Chris Dalton at 507-233-2121 no later than Wednesday, July 29, 2020, 4:30 p.m. to allow adequate time to make needed arrangements.
