Given, that the City
Council of the City of
New Ulm, Brown
County, Minnesota will
meet in the Council
Chambers in the New
Ulm City Hall on Tues-
day, March 21, 2017 at
4:30 p.m. to consider
ordering in the follow-
ing improvements, ex-
cept items 8, 9, 10 and
12 which have previ-
ously been approved to
be made, to-wit:
2017 Utility, Street and
Alley Improvements –
Group I
1. German Street from
12th North Street to
railroad R-O-W at 15th
North Street – Recon-
struction of the existing
water main, sanitary
sewer main, sewer and
water end services,
and reconstruction of
the existing roadway
section including exca-
vation and replace-
ment of subgrade, ag-
gregate base, bitumi-
nous paving, concrete
curb and gutter, con-
crete driveway pave-
ment, concrete side-
walk infill, pedestrian
sidewalk ramps, street
lighting and selective
replacement of con-
crete sidewalk.
2. Washington Street
from 6th North Street
to 10th North Street –
Reconstruction of the
existing water main,
sanitary sewer main,
sewer and water end
services, and recon-
struction of the existing
roadway section in-
cluding excavation and
replacement of
subgrade, aggregate
base, bituminous pav-
ing, concrete curb and
gutter, concrete drive-
way pavement, pedes-
trian sidewalk ramps,
street lighting and
selective replacement
of concrete sidewalk.
3. Oakwood Avenue
from Hollywood Ave-
nue to Boettger Road –
Reconstruction of the
existing roadway sec-
tion including excava-
tion and replacement
of subgrade, pavement
edge drains, aggregate
base, bituminous pav-
ing, storm sewer exten-
sion and selective re-
placement of concrete
curb and gutter and
concrete driveway
pavement.
4. Dacotah Drive,
Settler Trail and Benz
Circle in Dacotah West
Addition – Grading, ag-
gregate base, bitumi-
nous base, concrete
curb and gutter, con-

5. Storm Water Hold-

ment section including

Street – Stabilization
and reconstruction of
the failing concrete
block wall at the south
end of the Downtown
Mall German Street re-
taining wall.
pursuant to Minnesota
Statutes, Sections
429.011 to 429.111.
The area proposed to
be assessed for such
improvements is each
lot, piece and parcel of
property specially
benefited by said im-
provements. A reason-
able estimate of the
impact of the assess-
ment will be available
at the hearing. The to-
tal estimated cost of
the 2017 Utility, Street
and Alley Improve-
ments – Group I pro-
ject is $3,653,353.00.
Such persons as
desired to be heard
with reference to the
proposed improve-
ments will be heard at
this meeting.
