Cuba releases details of 32 officers killed
HAVANA (AP) — The Cuban government has revealed the identities of 32 military personnel killed during the U.S. capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. The government on Tuesday also announced two days of mourning. The deceased include colonels, lieutenants, majors and captains, aged 26 to 60. They belonged to Cuba’s main security agencies. Cuban authorities acknowledged their deaths on Sunday, stating they died in combat or from bombing. The U.S. strike on Venezuela led to a protest at the Organization of American States meeting. The U.S. called the strike a “targeted law enforcement action” against Maduro, denying it was an invasion.
