Sibley County Court

• Unconditional bail was set at $100,000 cash or bond Sept. 29 for Alexander Carl Nipp, 28, Gibbon, on a charge alleging felony theft of a motor vehicle. He could be released on his own recognizance with conditions including not using or possessing alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substances and be subject to reasonable suspicion testing by law enforcement. An omnibus hearing was set for 1 p.m. Nov. 6.

• Unconditional bail was set at $12,000 cash or bond Oct. 2 for Juan Carlos Romero Lorenzo, 25, Gaylord on a charge alleging third-degree DWI. He could be released on his own recognizance with conditions that he not use or possess alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substances and reasonable suspicion tests by law enforcement. A hearing was set for 9:45 a.m. Oct. 16.

• Joshua Adam Bashans, 43, Buffalo Lake, plead guilty Oct. 2 to unlawful firearm possession. He was sentenced to 60 months in prison, beginning immediately.

• Jeremy David Lone, 40, Gaylord, was sentenced to 90 days in the Sibley County Jail Oct. 2, stayed for up to one year supervised probation for misdemeanor domestic assault. He must serve 15 days in the Sibley County Jail, participate in domestic abuse counseling or an education program, complete a comprehensive assessment within 60 days and follow all recommendations. He was fined $115.

• Travis Adam Hildebrandt, 52, Gaylord, plead guilty to fourth-degree DWI Oct. 2. He was sentenced to 90 days in the Sibley County Jail., stayed for up to one year supervised probation. He must complete a comprehensive assessment within 60 days and follow all recommendations, attend a Victim Impact Panel, complete 40 hours sentence to service within six months, pay a $385 fine within 90 days.

• Jose Luis Acevedo, 64, Gaylord, plead guilty Oct. 2 to felony financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult. A sentencing hearing was set for 1 p.m. Dec. 23. He was released on the same conditions as previously ordered.

• Johnny Lee Bazan, 41, Brownton, plead guilty Oct. 2 to felony first-degree DWI. Another first-degree DWI charge, gross misdemeanor child endangerment and misdemeanor driving after revocation were dismissed. He was committed to the Commissioner of Corrections for 48 mos., stayed of all but 180 days and placed on up to five years supervised probation. He was fined $1,085 and ordered to attend a Victim Impact Panel.

• Bail was set at $1,000,000 cash or bond for Julia Renee Stolfa, 45, Winthrop, Oct. 3 for violating release conditions on a pending second-degree assault charge. She was ordered to undergo a competency evaluation. A review hearing was set for 10:30 a.m. Nov. 6.
