• Unconditional bail was set at $12,000 cash or bond Aug. 4 for Johnny Lee Bazan, 41, Brownton, on charges alleging two counts of second-degree gross misdemeanor DWI, gross misdemeanor child endangerment and misdemeanor driving after revocation. He could be released on his own recognizance subject to conditions. A hearing was set for 9:45 a.m. Aug. 28.

• Daniel Wayne Willette, 39, South St. Paul was sentenced to 364 days in the Sibley County Jail credited with 47 days served Aug. 7 after earlier pleading guilty to gross misdemeanor DWI test refusal and being convicted.

• Unconditional bail was set at $1,000,000,00 cash or bond Aug. 7 for Jose Omar Garcia-Cortes, 39, Mesa, Az., $900,000 with conditions on six charges alleging felony first-degree possession of a controlled substance and felony importing controlled substances across state borders. An omnibus hearing was set for 1 p.m. Sept. 4.
