Brown County District Court

• Gross misdemeanor 2nd-degree DWI – .08 or greater within 2 hours of driving and 3rd-degree DWI impairment charges were filed July 31, 2023 against Leah M. Stadick, 45, 18923 200th Ave., New Ulm.

According to court documents, New Ulm Police were called at 10:14 p.m. July 29 to a driving complaint about a vehicle that went past road construction barriers and came to a rest on a torn up road near 9th Street North and Minnesota Street.

Officer Christina Wright saw a silver Ford Edge beyond road closed signs and identified the vehicle driver as Stadick, who had intoxication clues. Stadick refused to blow into a preliminary breath test long enough to provide a sample. Stadick was arrested and taken to the Brown County Jail where she provided a Data Master breath test of .30 alcohol concentration at 11:30 p.m. She was previously convicted of DWI Aug. 6, 2019. Officers found a 5-liter box of wine and another bottle of wine in Stadick’s vehicle.

• Two gross misdemeanor 3rd-degree DWI charges were filed July 28, 2023 against Ronald D. Havemeier, 58, 208 Summit Ave. S.W., Sleepy Eye. According to court documents, Sleepy Eye Police Officer McGarry was on duty at 12:14 p.m. April 16, 2023 on Main Street East when he saw an oncoming vehicle that appeared to be moving faster than the posted 30 mph speed limit. Using locked radar, the suspect vehicle speed was measured at 42 mph and was covered in snow.

Officer McGarry stopped the vehicle in the Family Dollar parking lot and recognized the driver as Havemeier from past interactions. Havemeier showed intoxication clues and admitted to drinking. A preliminary breath test read .142 blood alcohol content and Havemeier was arrested and taken to the Brown County Jail where a Data Master test showed a .13 alcohol level. Havemeier was convicted fo DWI Aug. 7, 2014.

• A gross misdemeanor driving after cancellation charge was filed July 28, 2023 against Lana M. Heinrich, 49, 22654 110th St., Revere. According to court documents, Sleepy Eye Police Chief Matt Andres and officer Crystal Ostermann were on duty at 4:18 p.m. April 30, 2023, traveling east on Walnut St. S.W. near 7th Ave. S. W., an uncontrolled intersection when a red pickup truck approached that failed to yield, causing officer Ostermann to apply brakes.

Officer Ostermann stopped the truck and identified the driver as Heinrich with driver’s license that was cancelled-Inimical to Public Safety. Police told Heinrich she should not be driving anymore, drove her to work and told her a city ordinance requires her to move the vehicle within two days.

• Two gross misdemeanor 3rd-degree DWI charges, driver must carry proof of insurance when operating vehicle and petty misdemeanor driver fails to stop at entrance of through highway charges were filed July 28, 2023 against Jaclyn R. Andrade, 33, 411 1st Ave. N., Sleepy Eye.

According to court documents, Sleepy Eye Police Officer Peter McGarry was on duty at 7:47 p.m. Jan. 15, 2023 when he approached an all-way stop at 1st Avenue and St. Mary’s Street and saw a gray pickup truck that did not completely stop. Officer McGarry stopped the suspect vehicle and recognized the driver as Andrade from previous incidents.

Officer McGarry noticed intoxication clues from Andrade. She provided a preliminary breath test that registered .141. She was arrested for DWI and transported to the Brown County Jail. A Data Master breath test at the jail showed an alcohol level of .14 grams in 210 liters of breath.
