Brown County District Court

• Felony and gross misdemeanor charges, including 5th-degree drug possession-not small amount marijuana charges and a petty misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia were filed March 30, 2023 against Frederick E. Gibson, 57, 626 S. Minnesota Street, New Ulm.

According to court documents, New Ulm police executed a search warrant at 626 S. Minnesota St. Dec. 21, 2022. Items found in the residence included a glass pipe with white residue consistent with burnt methamphetamine, pipes used for smoking marijuana, a blue plastic baggie and small yellow canister with meth residue, and various other drugs and parapernalia.

• A gross misdemeanor charge of issuing a dishonored checkw was filed March 30, 2023 against Daniel L. Vallacher, 42, 831 Bradley Ave., Gibbon.

According to court documents, New Ulm Police Investigator Tara Martin met with the Mike’s Collision office manager about a dishonored check for $395.60 Vallacher tried to use to pay for vehicle repairs April 15, 2022.

A certified mail receipt showed a letter of Notice and Demand for Payment of Dishonored Check to Vallacher on May 2, 2022 went unclaimed and was returned to sender. Investigator Martin completed a bank demand request for information on Vallacher’s bank account sent by certified mail. On Feb. 11, 2023, Martin received records from Wells Fargo Bank showing that Vallacher’s account had a -$601.65 balance on April 8, 2023. No deposits were made and multiple other checks were returned unpaid.
