Court Proceedings
Brown County District Court
• Two gross misdemeanor second-degree DWI charges were filed June 6 against Andrew S. Kloeckl, 28, 410 6th St., Nicollet. A bail hearing was set for June 7.
According to court documents, Brown County Sheriff’s deputy Randee Murphy was dispatched at 7:14 p.m. June 4 to a driving complaint on U.S. Highway 14 and CR 10 involving a silver Chevy Silverado pickup truck.
At the scene, she noticed a silver truck pull into a driveway on the south side of the road and stop. The truck with license plates that matched the truck she was looking for, backed out of the driveway, onto Highway 14 and headed east towards New Ulm.
Murphy followed the truck into Menard’s parking lot and parked. The deputy identified the driver as Kloeckl. When he opened the pickup door, she smelled a strong alcoholic beverage odor coming from the truck and saw an open container of beer in a cup holder next to Kloeckl’s hand.
He admitted to having four drinks in Springfield, the last one about an hour ago. He failed certain field sobriety tests, displayed intoxication clues and refused a preliminary breath test.
Kloeckl was arrested for driving under the influence. A data master breath test taken at 8:18 p.m. showed a 0.23 alcohol content. He pleaded guilty to DWI on Jan. 14, 2014, and on Jan. 22, 2014.
