Court Proceedings
Brown County District Court
• Felony domestic assault, gross misdemeanor domestic assault-subsequent violation and misdemeanor disorderly conduct charges were filed April 12 against Damian R. Frederickson, 21, homeless. A court appearance was set for 8:30 a.m. May 3, 2022.
According to court documents, New Ulm Police were dispatched to New Ulm Mobile Village, 2526 S. Bridge St., New Ulm at 5:51 p.m. April 2 for an ongoing physical domestic call. At the scene, a neighbor told patrolman Russell Lieder that the suspect, Frederickson, headed south towards the bridge at Broadway and Bridge St. Cpl. Dustin Fleck saw Frederickson near a Minnesota River water access.
A woman who appeared visibly shaken, told police Frederickson punched her in the nose and hit her in the head with a milk jug. She said an argument began over how Frederickson was talking to their mother. The woman said she yelled at Frederickson to not speak to their mom that way, he hit her, grabbed some of his belongings and ran out of the residence.
A witness told officer Lieder she and Frederickson argued because he was rude and disrespectful, and it was an issue since he’s been back after the other woman picked him up a few days ago in Savage and brought him back to New Ulm.
Frederickson told officer Fleck he argued with the victim and witness over food in the trailer and that the victim pushed him and hit him in the eye, then he hit her over the head with a milk jug and left.
Frederickson was convicted of violating a July 13, 2021 harassment restraining order and pleaded guilty to gross misdemeanor domestic assault on Dec. 5, 2021.
