• Gideon L.Turgeon Jr., 25, 709 6th Ave. N.E., Sleepy Eye, was charged Feb. 8 with Felony 5th-degree drug sale-marijuana mixture, felony 5th degree drug possession-not small amount of marijuana, gross misdemeanor neglect or endangerment of a child and gross misdemeanor contributing to need for protection or services were filed Feb. 8.

Bail without conditions was set at $10,000; no bail with conditions. An initial court appearance was set for 8:30 a.m. Feb. 23.

According to court documents, Sleepy Eye Police executed a search warrant at Turgeon’s residence at 3:54 p.m., Feb. 5. Police knocked on the door and smelled a very strong unburnt marijuana odor in the residence.

Police observed a toddler sitting on a couch in the residence. Turgeon said he had a medical marijuana card.

Items taken into evidence included 114.9 grams of a green, leafy substance; miscellaneous paraphernalia, $222 in cash, a black and white rubber container with about 1 gram of marijuana wax, glass and yellow mug bongs, 2 THC vials for a vape pen, a baggie with 65 individual, rubber containers, each with about 1 gram of marijuana wax, “roaches” which are the remaining end of a marijuana joint on a tin next to a child’s pacifier and what appeared to be children’s medicine.
