• Joseph D. Geving, 33, 12 1/2 Lincoln St. W., Springfield, was charged with misdemeanor violating a restraining order and return to property within one year Tuesday. According to court documents, Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Jason Fairbairn received information regarding a possible Harassment Restraining Order (HRO) violation at 10:15 a.m., Aug. 11.

Fairbairn called the alleged victim who said Geving was served an HRO in June 2019 and was not to be within 100 yards of 26528 CR 9, Comfrey and 10187 400th Ave., Comfrey and that he violated HRO conditions served to him June 13, by going to 10187 400th Avenue, Comfrey. The victim said he saw Geving’s silver Chevrolet Tahoe travel by his house that morning, go to the 400th Avenue resident and leave the property.

Fairbairn located Geving in his vehicle in his apartment parking lot. Geving told Fairbairn he went to 10187 400th Avenue because he wanted to look at the property. Geving was arrested for an HRO violation, transported to the Brown County Jail and placed on court hold.
