• Nancy L. Wellmann, 49, 2201 N. Broadway, New Ulm, was charged with felony 5th-degree drug possession-not small amount of marijuana and gross misdemeanor introduce contraband into jail Monday. According to court documents, Brown County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Eric Schwarzrock transported Wellmann from the Redwood County Jail to the Brown County Jail on Nov. 4, 2018.

Upon being booked into the Brown County Jail, Corrections Officer Kaleena Wiens located a small, rubber orange and blue container, similar in size to a lip balm container, in Wellmann’s purse. Inside, was a waxy substance that tested positive for marijuana, using a NIC field testing kit. It weighed 0.79 grams.
