• Josiah J. Carpenter, 29, 203 Rock St. W., Springfield, was charged with felony predatory offender knowingly violates registration requirements. According to the complaint, Sleepy Eye Police Chief Matt Andres went to Carpenter’s registered address for a predatory offender compliance check and got no answer at the door. Andres was told by other renters that Carpenter moved out some time ago and hasn’t been seen since last fall. Andres called Carpenters phone number and got a message that it was no longer in service.

He got another Springfield address for Carpenter but Springfield Police said Carpenter didn’t live there either. Andres contacted the owner of Carpenter’s registered Sleepy Eye address and the property owner told him Carpenter moved out in January 2018 with notification.

Carpenter’s whereabouts are not known at this time. A compliance warrant was requested. He was summoned to appear in court at 8:30 a.m., May 7.
