Court Proceedings

Brown County

District Court

• Amanda B. Thiesse, 23, 2526 S. Bridge St., New Ulm, was charged with two counts of gross misdemeanor second-degree DWI and petty misdemeanor no rear license plate light. New Ulm Police were on patrol at 1:32 a.m. Feb. 8 when they saw a vehicle that slowed and stopped for a stop sign at the intersection of Minnesota St. and 20th South Street. Police noticed the vehicle’s license plate’s light was not working, then said the driver turned east from Broadway to 20th South Street without signaling at least 100 feet before turning. Police stopped the vehicle and noticed intoxication clues from the driver, Thiesse. She admitted drinking and failed a Preliminary Breath Test. She was arrested for DWI. A breath sample for analysis showed an alcohol concentration of .17 per 210 liters of breath. Her driving record showed a qualified, prior impaired driving incident, DWI on Sept. 13, 2016 with an implied consent license revocation in connection with the incident.
