Sleepy Eye High School presents Disney Lion King Experience

SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye High School presents The Lion King Disney Experience Oct. 12, 14 and 15 in the Sleepy Eye High School auditorium.
Show times are 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14 and 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15.
“It’s a lot of work, but I’m sure it will be great show,” said Marcus Martinez who plays Rafiki.
“We’ve been working very hard for six months. Lots of students are involved,” said Kyle Capacia, who plays Mufasa.
The action-adventure, drama, family musical journeys to the Africa savanna where a future king is born. Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa and takes to the heart his own royal destiny.
In this production Kyle Capacia plays Mufasa and later adult Simba. Young Simba is played by Anders Coulson.
Not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub’s arrival. Scar (Jose Casterona), Mufasa’s brother–and former heir to the throne–has plans of his down.
The battle for Pride Rock has betrayal, tragedy and drama, resulting in Simba’s exile. With help from new friends, Simba has to learn how to grow upa nd take back what is rightfully his.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students in grades 7-12 and $6 for kids grade 6 and under.
Pre-sale reserved seating and general admission tickets may be purchased Oct. 9-11 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at the Sleepy Eye High School concession stand. Tickets will also be available at door one hour prior to performances.
The Disney Lion King is based on a book by Roger Allers and Irene Mecchi and is based on the Broadway production directed by Julie Taymor. Music and lyrics by Elton Jonn and Tim Rice.
