The Nagel Radel Post 1648 (New Ulm and Sleepy Eye) of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States installed a new commander on May 11. Tom Roesch (left) was sworn in by the post senior past commander, Denis Warta (right). The New Ulm and Sleepy Eye VFW posts merged last year and now cover Brown and surrounding counties. Most veterans who served overseas during a period of armed conflict are eligible to join and are welcome to attend the post meetings at 7 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month. Odd-numbered month meetings take place at the New Ulm Legion club and even-numbered month meetings are held at the Sleepy Eye Serviceman’s Club.
