Challenged youths can learn to ride horses
The Golden Rose Riders 4-H Club would like to extend an invitation to youth from kindergarten through high school with challenges or disabilities to learn how to ride and care for horses.
Two sessions are offered with teaching from experienced 4-H horse project members and volunteers. To top off the experience, participants will take a horseback ride.
Event organizers are prepared to make accommodations to meet every rider’s needs, including the use of helmets provided by the 4-H club.
This will be the second annual Challenged Rider event hosted by the Golden Rose Riders. During last year’s event, nearly 30 youths participated.
Participants do not need to be current 4-H members or have any prior horse experience; however, they need to enroll via the 4-H website.
The first session will take place on Wednesday, May 25, and the second session will be Thursday, June 30. For more information and to register, visit z.umn.edu/GRRChallengedRider2022.
