Community Ed offering jewelry making class

NEW ULM — New Ulm Community Education is offering a Hematite Jewelry Making class on May 20, 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Washington Learning Center Room #104. (door #1)

Instructor will be Jenna Gibson The fee will be $25.

This class is designed for people new to jewelry making and for people with an artistic spirit. It is intended for everyone, from young to old, beginners to experts and for all genders. Learn about what hematite is, where it comes from and how it is made into jewelry.

This class will go over some of the myths surrounding hematite and the healing powers it holds. You will learn how to design a beautiful piece of art and take a bracelet home of your own creation. All materials will be provided and will include hematite beads (magnetic and non-magnetic), stone, glass and synthetic beads, various charms, copolymer cord and magnetic clasps.
