Outdoor Wading Pools are open for the season through Aug. 20 for those ages 8 and under. They will be open daily from 12:30-6:30 p.m. Children must be with adult at least 18 years old. There is NO lifeguard on duty. Admission is FREE

Adult/Child Yoga in the Parks is FREE! Relaxed-paced yoga that integrates breath work, muscle elongation, toning and special awareness for a greater sense-of balance and direction. No previous experience is necessary. Class is for all ages and fitness levels and is possible through the Neighborhood Health Connection Grant from Allina Health. Participants are encouraged to bring their own water bottles! Attend 3 or more dates and get a free yoga mat! Check or website for a complete listing of dates and park locations.

Water Safety Day at the Pool: Tuesday, June 6 from 1-4 p.m. Kick off the summer open swim schedule by learning about Water Safety! Join Josh the Otter, Whales Tales and Rec Center Pool Staff during pool breaks for a fun and educational Water Safety Event! Free temporary tattoos and gift bags for participants. FREE to members or regular $5 admission.

Hermann Heights Monument open daily from 10 a.m.-7 p.m., except for during inclement weather conditions. There will be a full moon over Hermann on Friday, June 9 where Hermann will be open until 10 p.m. for those wanting an extraordinary view of the MN River Valley under a full moon! Regular admission rates apply.

Youth Fit Club for ages 13 and up. A dynamic and fun way to be social while exercising with peers. This program is being led by Anita Longtin and will offer a variety of classes that increase overall physical fitness, self-image and high energy fun! This program runs Fridays beginning June 9-30. Register online or the Rec. Center.

Hermann Swim Club: Recreational swim club open to those 8-17 that will provide opportunity for swimmers to improve swim strokes, build muscle, speed, strength and improve endurance in a fun and safe environment. We offer sessions consisting of 6 meeting dates for developing techniques and an in-house intra-squad swim meet. Participants must have passed Level 4 Swim Lessons and be at least 8 years old. Register online or at the Rec. Center. The first session begins June 13-29 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-5:30 p.m.

Big Tree Contest is going on now through June 12. The entrant who identifies the largest Locust tree in New Ulm city limits will be reimbursed up to $200 to purchase and plant a tree from the city approved tree list, procured from a city designated local nursery.
