Horse Bowl

Brown County collaborated with kids from Blue Earth, Watonwan and Cottonwood Counties to form two Horse Bowl teams. Horse Bowl is the second most attended event all year within the 4-H competition! Patterned after the golden-oldie television show College Bowl, 4-H Project Bowls challenge teams of 3-6 youth on their knowledge of these 4-H areas: Dairy, dog, general livestock, horse, lama, poultry, rabbit and wildlife.

There are four regional bowls, which lead to the state competition. Each has two divisions: Junior (grades 3-8) and Senior (grades 4-4-H graduation). Regional winners advance to the 4-H State Project Bowl. Winners at the state level in dairy, general livestock, horse, poultry and wildlife go on to national contests!

Members of the Jr Brown/Blue Earth team which are advancing to State Competion after being Reserve Champions are Andrew Hellendrung, Madeline Dubke, Caidence Kucera, Houston Jensen and Talia Schueler. Members of the Brown/ Watonwan/Cottonwood team are Jade Jensen, Brooke Johnson, Trinity Larson and Ian Malinowski.
