As I’m writing this, the weather outside is sunny and 80 degrees. It is one of those spectacular bonus days we sometimes get in early spring. The shorts and sandals have come out, and everyone is outside enjoying the weather. The promise of spring has me thinking about gardens, so here are a few of the new library books about growing flowers and vegetables.

Step by Step Greenhouse Gardening for Beginners: Easy DIY Setup Anywhere, Eco-Friendly Tips to Grow and Protect Plants in Every Season, and Harvest Produce Like a Pro by J.J. Roman (635.9823 Roman). If you are thinking about building a greenhouse, this small book is packed full of information for your project.

The Essential Guide to Bulbs: Grow a Bounty of Beautiful Bulbs in Gardens and Containers by Jenny Rose Carey (635.94 Carey). You will be planting bulbs with confidence after reading this book.

The 10-Minute Gardener: How to Have a Veggie Garden and a Life – 85 Time-Saving Tactics to Be More Efficient and Grow More Food in Less Time by CaliKim (635 CaliKim). If you think you don’t have time to garden, think again. This book divides gardening into small, high impact tasks, with tips to grow a beautiful garden and have time for everything else too.

Grow Food Anywhere: How to Plant the Right Crops in the Right Place and Help Your Garden Thrive by Lucy Chamberlain (635 Chamber). You truly can grow food anywhere; it just takes some thought about your area and environment. This book will start you on your way to growing delicious food.

The Cook’s Garden: A Gardener’s Guide to Selecting, Growing, and Savoring the Tastiest Vegetables of Each Season by Kevin West (635 West). West takes you through all the steps, including delicious recipes, to grow your own vegetables for your table.

The Vintage Farmhouse Garden: Your Guide to Creating a Vintage Inspired Outdoor Space by Rhonda Kaiser (645.8 Kaiser). Combine beautiful blooms and rustic accessories to create your perfect farmhouse garden, even if you don’t live on a farm.
