In Appreciation
New Ulm Foundation Donors
Each year the New Ulm Area Foundation publishes a list of donors and memorials. In 2014 NUAF began its “be part of the MATCH” campaign to raise a total of $250,000 in endowment contributions over 3 years to match a commitment made by donor Thor Mickelson of Mickelson Media. The Board of Directors of the Foundation wishes to express their sincere thanks for the very generous support of the community in the past year. To date, the New Ulm Area Foundation has obtained a total of approximately $220,000 in donations and commitments to achieve this goal. The following is a list of the donations and first-year commitments received for the campaign in 2014.

Sewing for Sight
The 4th annual Sewing For Sight event sponsored by the St. George Catholic United Financial organization and Sewing Seeds Quilt Co was held on Jan. 17, 2015 in St. George. This year marked an all time high in financial contributions generated totaling over $12,000.00 to be donated to the Foundation for Saving Sight. Established in 1992, Dr. Christopher Wallyn and Dr. Michael Merck along with a team of volunteers, travel yearly to San Lucas, Toliman to deliver sight saving eye care to some of the worlds most needy and vulnerable people. The funds generated this year allowed them to purchase an exam chair and a surgical equipment table. As we surpassed our goal, the funds we are certain will be used to enhance or update the medical facility in San Lucas.
Words simply do not express our SINCEREST THANK YOU to our parish family, the retreat participants, the kitchen crew who prepared, donated and served delicious food for the day, the many volunteers who helped us prepare and facilitate the event, those who donated to the silent auction, the independent vendors, the attendees of the beautiful quilt show and to the MANY who generously donated financial support. Our combined efforts have made a significant impact on the lives of so many.
Jan. 23, 2016 has been set as the date for next year’s event. We ask for your continued support. Visit www.regeyecenter.com to read more about their efforts.
