Contrary to what appears to be a prevailing opinion, the state law regulating headlights on motor vehicles has not been repealed, but is still in full force or would be if law enforcement officers paid any attention to it. The error in thinking the law governing headlights is no longer in effect probably is due to the fact that a humber of sections of the old motor vehicle law were repealed, including the section governing headlights. Rain storm yields .38 of an inch

Thunderstorms offered farmers a little relief this morning when New Ulm was hit with its heaviest rain in seven weeks. However, experts emphasize that much more rain is needed if it is to have any effect on the area’s thirsting crops. THE OFFICIAL city weather station at South Bridge recorded .38of an inch of rain, a greater amount than fell during the entire month of July. Store owner beaten, robbed

Fay Jukulen, co-owner of the Wig Boutique, was robbed at her shop at 1 1/2 N. Minnesota of $17 or $18 about 2:50 p.m. Saturday, according to New Ulm Police. Mrs. Jukulen was working alone at the boutique, which is one of several second-floor offices downtown. She had gone to the bathroom down the hall and when she came back in the boutique a man hiding behind the door knocked her hard on the shoulder and threw her on the floor,striking her several times.
