Each year New Ulm’s Rotarians sponsor students from our local high schools to attend the annual Rotary youth conference in St. Paul. New pool draws Fourth Ward interest

Eighteen residents of the Fourth Ward spoke their pieces Thursday at Turner Hall as the City Council continued its hearings on what the community wants in recreation. Most popular was an indoor swimming pool. “We should be ashamed to bus our children to St. James and Mankato to swim and play hockey,” said Elaine Paa for openers. Martin Luther Academy of New Ulm trounced Sleepy Eye High School 86-37 in a girls dual track meet Monday at Johnson Field here. Luther is 3-0 in dual meets but finished far down the list in the Winthrop Relays.
