OTHER CITIES THINK WELL OF NEW ULM’S CHRISTMAS TREES

That New Ulm is always in the forefront cannot be contradicted. Some weeks ago at a meeting in the Commercial club it was decided that a novel manner of advertising the city and adding an air of the Holiday season would be to place ten-foot Christmas trees in the holes in the sidewalks, which are used for flags on holidays throughout the year. The idea was acted upon and the trees were in place, and strung with colored lights the week following Thanksgiving. The lights are turned on every afternoon several hours before it is dark and left burning until late at night. New Ulm looks like a real Santa town.

That the idea was a good one, it is only necessary to mention other cities and villages are following suit and before Christmas we expect about half the cities and villages in this part of the state will have Christmas trees of one kind or another decorated with colored lights trailing in the wake of New Ulm.
