Cathedral Homecoming events begin Thursday

Annual Homecoming festivities at Cathedral High School in New Ulm will be Thursday and Friday.
Activities begin Thursday with the Homecoming pepfest in the Cathedral High School gymnasium at 7:30 p.m.
Coronation of the 1975 Homecoming queen will be there,with crowning done by the 1974 Queen, Miss Patricia Lindsay of New Ulm. This year’s candidates are Cathy Brandel, Patti Filzen,Brenda Hillesheim, Rita Landsteiner, and Lois Osborne. Escorts include Bob Arnoldy, Dale Braun, Brian Gulden, Bob Rose, Russ Stueber,and Gary Wilfahrt.
Pepfest activities also include skits by the various classes and performances by the Pom Pom girls, Majorettes, and Flag Girls. Admission is by Homecoming button or 50 cents at the door. The public is invited.
On Friday the student body of Cathedral High will celebrate the annual Homecoming Mass at 11:15a.m. in the Cathedral church. The football team, coaches and royal court will be seated in a place of honor at the Mass.
At 2:15 p.m. the annual Homecoming Parade begins from the school parking lot and proceeds through downtown New Ulm to Third S.
Friday at 7:30 p.m. the Greyhounds host the Faribault Bethlehem Academy Cardinals in a DeSmet conference game at Johnson Field in New Ulm. Halftime activities include the introduction of the court and a performance by the school band.
Immediately following the game the Homecoming dance begins and runs to 12:30 a.m. at the Cathedral High gym. Music will be provided by Scepter. Admission to the dance is $1.50 at the door. The dance is open to alumni, friends and students of Cathedral High.
