FIERY CROSS BURNED ON FRIEDERICH FARM EAST OF TOWN SAT.
Spectators on Minnesota street shortly after nine o’clock, Saturday evening, plainly observed a fiery cross burning on the eminence across the Minnesota river east of New Ulm on the Friederich farm.
The flames shot up high in the air and made a spectacular showing when viewed from Center street. This is the second cross to be burned in that location within a few months. Whether the Kluxers are operating in this vicinity or whether some parties, who desire to arouse comment are frequently burning the crosses is merely conjecture.
Since the meeting held in New Ulm some months ago and addressed by a Kluxer there has not been any outward evidence of any ku klux activity.
A number of New Ulmites drove out to the burning cross and viewed the scene close at hand.
