The Journal's Thursday, Oct. 30 Brown County board story about the South Country Health Alliance (SCHA) and county-based purchasing should read the Minnesota Supreme Court did not uphold the Minnesota Court of Appeals decision affirming counties have the right to chose county-based purchasing.
"In Nov. 2023, the Supreme Court granted a review of of the Aug. 12, 2023 decision of the Court of Appeals. On Aug. 29, 2025, the Supreme Court vacated the order and dismissed the petition for review," SCHA CEO Leota Lind said Thursday.
Lind said the SCHA found that nutrition and behavioral health are most important now 'to our members.'
Lind also said new eligibility rules and work requirements effective in 2027 will apply to Medicaid.
